
Custody Transfer Turbine Flow Meter

Working Principle
Precision Fluid Conditioning
The high-value liquid or gas enters the inline measurement body from the pipeline. To meet the strict accuracy demands of a Custody Transfer Turbine Flow Meter, the fluid first passes through an internal flow straightener that removes unwanted swirl and turbulence, ensuring a perfectly uniform velocity profile.
Kinetic Energy Transfer
The conditioned stream flows across a multi-bladed rotor suspended freely within the path. As the fluid collides with the rotor blades, its kinetic energy forces the wheel to spin. Because the rotor features a low-inertia, high-precision bearing design, its rotational speed changes in direct proportion to the volume of fluid passing through.
Magnetic Pulse Extraction
As the rotor spins, the metallic tips of the blades pass beneath an external pickup coil mounted on the outer wall of the Custody Transfer Flow Meter instrument. Each passing blade interrupts the localized magnetic field, generating a small, distinct electrical pulse without any physical contact or frictional drag.
High-Resolution Pulse Count
