cable float level switch

Cable Float Level Switch

Cable Float Level Switch is an efficient way of automatically controlling the level of fluids in storage vessels like tanks, reservoirs, and sumps. This switch will help regulate your pump and control the required level of fluid without running into the problem of overflow and dry running. The switch is made from a polypropylene float attached to a cable.

Overview

The Cable Float Level Switch is suspended within the tank by means of the flexible cable. With the changing liquid levels, the float moves, and the switch turns itself on automatically in order to control pumps or level alarms.

For automatic tank filling and emptying operations, a mercury-free microswitch is used to achieve dependable electrical switching action.

It is made of a polypropylene housing and therefore can be used for water, wastewater, sewage, and other applications.

The adjusting counterweight helps set the switching points at the desired operation level.

Working Principle

Horizontal Mounting and Float Travel

The Side Mounted Magnetic Level Switch is mounted horizontally in the side of the tank/vessel, and the float within the chamber rises and falls depending on the change in the liquid level.

Float Arm Rotation

The float travel will make the arm rotate at its pivot point due to the rise and fall of the liquid level. In corrosive application conditions, the use of SS316 material may be required.

Transfer of Magnetic Action

Permanent magnets mounted on the float mechanism travel with the float. There is no physical contact of the liquid with the electronic parts because of the magnetic transfer through the sealed chamber wall.

Activation of Switch

If the float travels to the desired level, the magnetic field makes the switching mechanism operate; the microswitch shifts its contacts and creates the electrical signal.

Control Signals

Signals are generated for alarm (high/low level), pumps, valves, and other industrial purposes.

Why Cable Float Level Switch

Automatic Control of Pumps: The Cable Float Level Switch makes the control of fluid levels possible and thus serves well for filling up tanks, draining tanks and also for preventing overflow.

Durable Build: This type of switch is built using polypropylene housing and is made to suit water, wastewater, and compatible process fluids for industrial applications.

Adjustable Switching Level: The adjustable counterweight will make it easy to adjust the switching level to the needed level without any changes being made to the setup.

Switching Reliability: A mercury free microswitch is used in the switch to give reliable electrical signals for pumps and PLC controlled systems.
