side mounted magnetic level switch

Side Mounted Magnetic Level Switch

With our Side Mounted Magnetic Level Switch, we have an incredibly durable piece of equipment that gives you the most dependable passive point level automation for your process vessels and sumps. Through the use of a glandless repelling magnet design to create a leak-free operation, this tough system is used perfectly as a high level alarm switch for fuel tanks or aggressive liquids in industry.

Overview

The Side Mounted Magnetic Level Switch is made for mounting horizontally on tanks and vessels where it works to monitor level changes by using a float with magnets, which will trigger the switch at the pre-set point of level change.

Being sealed magnetically, the switch ensures isolation between the process fluid and the electronic circuitry, ensuring reliable switching actions.

Chemical tanks, fuel storage tanks, and utility installations can use the device, which comes in SS316 construction with many additional features including flange type and explosion-proof models.

Working Principle

Installation of Horizontal Device and Float Movement

The Side Mounted Magnetic Level Switch device is installed horizontally in side of the tank or vessel and a float within the chamber moves either upwards or downwards based on the liquid level change.

Movement of Float Around Pivot Point

Due to the increase or decrease in the liquid level, the float movement results in the rotation of the arm around its pivot point. In case of corrosion resistance applications, the SS316 material option is available.

Magnetic Transfer Signal

The permanent magnet fitted in the float system rotates in accordance with the float. The magnetic movement is transmitted to the sealed chamber wall without any physical contact between the liquid and electronic parts.

Activation of Switch by Magnet

On attaining the set point liquid level, the magnetic movement triggers the switch mechanism and micro-switch alters its contacts’ positions and sends out an electric signal.

Output Signal of the Switch

The output signal from the switch can be utilized for high and low-level alarms, pumps and valve controls, etc.

Why Side Mounted Magnetic Level Switch

Fluid Isolation: Side Mounted Magnetic Level Switch employs an isolated magnetic coupling mechanism which separates the process fluid from the electrical components; hence, ideal for applications with volatile and hazardous fluid levels.

Durable Structure: With SS316 structure available, this switch is made for use in applications dealing with corrosive process fluids, pressure conditions, and tough process environment.

Level Control: The switch gives immediate level indication and is ideal for high or low-level alarm, pump operation, and process shut-off.

Reliable Electrical Switching: Provided with robust microswitch contacts, this level switch offers consistent electrical switching signals.
