Thermal mass flow technology to measure the consumption of Natural Gas

Thermal mass flow meter does not required pressure and temperature correction and can directly measure the mass flow of gas. As we all aware that natural gas is flammable in nature the electrical enclosure of instruments has to be explosion proof, PCD offers its mass flow meter with flame proof electric enclosure and is certified by Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO). Natural Gas:-

Natural gas is one of the cleanest and most useful forms of energy. It is combustible and burns more cleanly than some other energy sources helps strengthen its position as one of the most highly used energy sources. Most of industrial sector in today world uses natural gas as energy sources as it is one of the cheapest and most efficient sources of energy makes it easy to see why it is so commonly use. It IS colorless, odorless gas and contain composition with higher percentage of methane with a small percentage of other higher hydrocarbons. It is procured from the oil / gas wells and transported across the country through network of pipeline.

Natural gas supplied in two forms:

  • Piped Natural Gas (PNG)
  • Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)

Piped Natural Gas (PNG):

PNG is used for Residential, Commercial and Industrial Consumption and it is supplied through an integrated network of Steel pipeline. PNG has several distinctions to its credit-of being a pollution free fuel, economical and safer fuel being few of them. It is being used predominantly as a versatile fuel in many major cities across the entire globe in domestic, commercial and industrial applications.

Compressed Natural Gas (CNG):

CNG is a fuel source that is made from compressing natural gas at a pressure of 200 – 250 Bar. It is economical and Eco-friendly than other conventional liquid auto fuels. CNG can be used in place of diesel or gasoline in any vehicle with a CNG conversion kit available or CNG engine. CNG use remarkably reduces harmful exhaust gas emissions from vehicle like carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide monoxide and other suspended particles and thus becomes environment friendly.

Inline Thermal Mass Flow Meter (PCD-TMF-IL) :

Inline thermal mass flow meter can be used to measure the flow consumption of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) or Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). Inline model starts for DN 15 up to DN 150 NB.

Insertion Thermal Mass Flow Meter (PCD-TMF-IN) :

Insertion thermal mass flow meter can only be used to measure the flow consumption of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) in bigger pipe size Insertion model starts for DN 50 up to DN 200 NB.

Low Flow Thermal Mass Flow Meter (PCD-TMF-LF) :

  • Low flow thermal mass flow meter can only be used to measure the flow consumption of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) as well as or Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). This is also used to check gas leak of the system.
